Scope of Work:
As Owner’s Representative for the MSC Miami Cruise Terminal from June 2019 through April 2020, Torx Builders was involved in Pre-Construction Services including but not limited to Coordination with Designers (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Civil, Marine), Coordination and Procurement of Permits through Miami Dade County Building Department, Coordination with Agencies having Jurisdiction (FPL, Water & Sewer, DERM, etc), Coordination with County Agencies (PortMiami, Coast Guard, Police Department, Small Business, Art In Public Places), Estimating, Scheduling, Development of Design Criteria Documents, and Development of Request for Qualifications and Pricing for Pre-Construction Services and for Design-Build Services.
As Project Manager for MSC on the MSC Miami Cruise Terminal from August 2021 through June 2025, Torx Builders managed/oversaw the Design-Builder’s design, permitting, construction, testing, and commissioning activities. During construction, Torx Builders provided daily monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with the contract documents and county requirements. Torx Builders also served as liaison with Port Miami, Miami-Dade County and Agencies Having Jurisdiction. Torx Builders worked alongside Gardiner & Theobald, MSC’s Contract Manager responsible for Project Controls, to ensure successful delivery of this flagship terminal at Port Miami.
