Mila and Gredel volunteered for water project with Blue Missions. They traveled to Dominican Republic during the summer as Hurricane Beryl was approaching. This was an amazing experience they shared not only with each other but with the town of Los Concunes and 30 plus families that would benefit from receiving water. Volunteer work consisted of hiking miles up and down the mountains during storm conditions with water pipes, trenching, laying and gluing pipes. There are no words to express the joy that filled the townspeople when they saw water flowing. This project improved the quality of life of these families. By not having to go to river with buckets to get water for life’s basic needs: cleaning, cooking, bathing, they now had more time to enjoy as a family and dedicate to other things.
