Scope of Work: In the course of delivering this extraordinarilly-successful project, MCM performed a major improvements and upgrades for the existing Port of Miami Terminal D, the adjacent Intermodal Parking Area, and select adjacent facilities. The project’s scope included: the construction of a new x-ray K-9 Facility for passenger baggage screening; parking improvements, a two-story addition to the existing Terminal D structure, passenger boarding bridge upgrades, and miscellaneous interior finish improvements. This challenging project exceeded the Owner’s requirement that it achieve LEED certification, achieving LEED SIlver certification while adhering to an aggressive schedule. Indeed, the terminal began operating (successfully) the same day that it was contractually-required to be substantially complete, with a major international cruise ship arrival that very evening.
